Drake Medox is seeking dedicated and experienced Support Workers based in Auckland to provide high-quality care for clients living with spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, and other complex care needs. These are long-term client placements where you'll play a vital role in supporting individuals to live safely and independently in their own homes.

We are currently recruiting for high-needs clients who require a consistent team of confident and compassionate Support Workers experienced in personal care and complex support tasks.

We are particularly interested in candidates who are flexible and available for morning, afternoon, weekend, and sleepover shifts, with opportunities for additional hours when available.

About the Role

Working one-on-one with clients in their homes and communities across Auckland, your responsibilities may include:

• Providing full personal care for clients with limited mobility
• Hoisting, manual handling, and assisted transfers
• Bowel and bladder care (full training provided)
• Monitoring skin integrity and reporting concerns
• Supporting clients with cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, and other neurological or physical disabilities
• Assisting with stretches, mobility programmes, and rehabilitation goals
• Household tasks and meal preparation
• Medication administration within scope of practice
• Supporting community access, including shopping, appointments, education, employment, and social activities

You will follow detailed care plans and established routines to ensure consistent, safe, and high-quality support for clients with complex healthcare requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant, or in a similar healthcare role
• Experience supporting clients with spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy or other complex care needs is highly desirable
• NZQA Health and Wellbeing qualification (Level 2-4) preferred but not essential
• Based in Auckland or the surrounding areas
• Reliable transport and a valid driver's licence
• Availability across a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and sleepovers
• Confidence with hoisting, transfers, and personal care tasks, or willingness to undertake training
• NZ residency or a valid work visa (we can't sponsor visa)
• Commitment to completing NZQA Health and Well being qualifications if not already achieved
• A genuine passion for building long-term relationships with clients
• Clear communication skills both written & verbal
• Able to work in environments with household pets (dogs & cats)
